In order to obtain a handicap you will have to submit three strokeplay scores. Each scorecard must be signed by a member who already holds a full handicap. Supplementary Scores, booked in beforehand to the Professionals shop, can also count as medal rounds for this purpose.
You cannot compete in any competition in which a Congu handicap is required, but you may play during the competition and return a card.
The player must sign in with the Pro. Cards should be marked and signed by a responsible person (someone who holds or has held a handicap). Play shall be from the yellow Box tees (for Gents) and the format will be Stroke play only. The cards are required to have your name, date and "FOR HANDICAP" printed clearly, signed by you and your marker, placed in the box in the clubhouse hallway. The handicap committee will then allocate you a handicap. You will then be allowed to compete in competitions.
In order to retain your handicap it is necessary to return a minimum of three scores each year. The cards may be strokeplay or stableford, either during Competition or by returning a Supplementary score.
In order to re-activate a lapsed handicap, you may play during a competition and submit a score. A Tee Time must be booked with the Pro, not with HowDidIDo or BRS. Please do not sign-in for any competition, pay 2's or sweep, or attempt to enter your score into the computer. The Pro will give you your card; Make sure 'LAPSED' is printed at the top. Deposit your signed card into the box in the Hall.
Alternatively, supplementary cards can be submitted on a non-competition day provided you register the fact that you are entering a supplementary score with the Pro Shop before you play. This card must be signed and deposited into the box in the Hall.
All members can check their handicaps and competition results on the 'HowDidIdo' system by clicking the button below and logging in to the 'HowDidIdo' website. If you have not done so already you need to register with 'HowDidIdo' before being able to access the site.
All on-line tee booking from 12:00hrs on Wed 9th Jan 2019 will be done using the ClubV1 mobile app or on-line via https://largs.hub.clubv1.com/

Most Mondays, weather permitting, there is an informal “roll up” group (Manic Monday) that meet in the lounge at around 10: – 10:30am. A draw is made for playing partners before battle commences on the course with some “friendly”, but competitive, golf. New and long standing members are welcome to come along. It’s a great way for new members to meet people and for “old” members to meet new players.
The club run a monthly draw for members. It is only £5 per month so if you wish to be in with a chance to win (every Christmas we have a jackpot of £750) please complete a standing order form (click here) and return it to the office. Each month there is 1 x £75 prize, 1 x £50 prize and 2 x £25 prizes. You have to be in it to win it!
